The 41st edition of the Psotka Memorial 2026 will take place on 17. 10. 2026 traditionally with start and finish on Štrbské Pleso!
We invite you to the event with the title of the oldest alpine cross-country race in Central Europe and one of the oldest alpine cross-country races in Europe in general.
The Memorial is dedicated to the memory of the legend of Czech-Slovak mountaineering Jozef Psotka and Slovak mountaineers who became victims of Mount Everest.
Description of the route:
- BASIC 26km / 1600m+
Štrbské pleso (Areál bežeckého lyžovania) – Jamské pleso – Rázcestie v Krivánskom žľabe – Tri studničky – bývalá Važecká chata – Rázcestie pod Furkotskou dolinou – Škutnastá poľana – Chata pod Soliskom – Štrbské pleso čerpačka – Štrbské pleso (Areál bežeckého lyžovania)
- EXTREME 38km / 2500m+

The BASIC route has been officially selected as the final race of the Skyrunner® National Series Slovakia, held under the auspices of the International Skyrunning Federation (ISF)! This bestows a prestigious international dimension upon the event, promising big names and top-tier competition at the starting line. For the fastest runners, it represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity – the top three finishers will earn direct qualification for SkyMasters 2026, the final event of the global Skyrunner® World Series, taking place on November 7, 2026, in Eslida, Spain, as part of the legendary Marató dels Dements race.
