Safety on the slopes is getting a boost – Parliament has approved an amendment to the Mountain Rescue Service Act proposed by the Ministry of the Interior. The change introduces several new measures to better protect tourists and skiers.
From January 2026, the mandatory ski helmet rule will apply to all skiers under the age of 18 (previously up to age 15).
The aim of the change is to improve the safety of young athletes on the slopes and prevent serious injuries.
