From Štrbské Pleso to Predné Solisko and back

A moderately strenuous hike to the bottom station of the chair lift to the chalet of Chata pod Soliskom and further to the peak of Predné Solisko. It is probably the easiest peak of the High Tatras for tourists to reach. When standing on its top more than 2,000 metres above sea level, enjoy the mesmerizing views of Kriváň and the Low Tatras (Nízke Tatry).

Begin

Join the blue waymarked trail at the Štrbské Pleso train station. It follows the ridge of Soliskový hrebeň directly to the chalet Chata pod Soliskom (1,840 m above sea level). When climbing, you will see the chair lift on your right. From the chalet weave your way through several hairpin bends up a steep stone hillside. Once at the top of Predné Solisko (2,117 m above sea level), look around to take in the outstanding views of the valleys of Furkotská dolina and Mlynická dolina. Return

From the trail junction at Chata pod Soliskom, take the path that goes down to Furkotská dolina. Later on, join the trail of Tatranská magistrála and walk back to Štrbské Pleso.
